How to Get Infinite Water in Sandustry

Sandustry infinite water guide for Wet Sand production: start with a pool, route water safely, understand steam and rain, and verify Lumling capture methods.

How do you get reliable water in Sandustry?

Start with a natural pool and build the dirt-to-Wet-Sand loop close to it. Water turns dirt into Wet Sand, which feeds the Shaker gold loop. Keep a clear route for water so it does not settle in the same space as the Collector or Residue belt.

Use a simple first water line

Place a Launcher and material path so dirt passes through water before reaching the Shaker. This is easier to inspect than a large enclosed pipe design. If Wet Sand production stops, confirm that the dirt still touches water and that the Shaker output is not blocked.

Understand steam and rain

The supplied notes describe ice melting into water, water becoming steam when heated, and steam later returning as rain after reaching the sky. These interactions can support a water system, but they also introduce movement and condensation you must contain. Test them in a separate area before connecting them to gold production.

Treat Lumlings as patch-sensitive

The notes describe Lumlings as creatures that release water and can be captured after researching the Coraler. Their availability, capture method, and practical output should be verified in the current Early Access version. Do not rely on an assumed infinite source until you have observed it in your own save.
