How to Let Wet Sand Through but Stop Water

Filter Wet Sand and Water in Sandustry with a test lane: separate material, protect Shakers from liquid backups, and tune filters for steady gold production.

How do you keep Water out of Wet Sand?

Treat the task as material sorting, not as a single magic filter placement. Feed a small mixed sample through an isolated lane and confirm which output receives Wet Sand and which receives free Water. This prevents a failed experiment from flooding the main Shaker line.

Keep the Shaker input clean

Wet Sand is the desired Shaker input, while extra Water can disrupt the surrounding transport and collection space. Give water a safe drain or holding route rather than letting it sit above the machine. Make sure the Wet Sand path still has enough drop space to reach the Shaker.

Use filters to control throughput

Filters can also slow a material stream, which helps prevent multiple pixels from landing on a sensitive machine at once. Start with a narrow feed and watch for material accumulating on top of components. Increase the flow only when the full route, including waste removal, remains stable.

Recheck density-dependent behavior

Material behavior can depend on density and surrounding liquids. If a layout copied from an older guide behaves differently, rebuild it as a small test rather than forcing it into production. Record the game version when sharing a successful design.
